Organisation Description:

YAC is a Youth-led NGO based in the Wester Region of Ghana. YAC began as a small group of intrinsically motivated and spirited young men and women who wanted to improve ghanaian communities and society through educating fellow youths especially girls and young women on Sexual and Reproduction Health and Rights. The group started operating very small with special focus and interest in deprived communities, towns and villages in the Western Regiion. Through hard work, committment and the love/desire to cause some change, YAC had attained a level and description of a full-fledged organization with clear structures and systems including a growing membership base. As a result, YAC has expanded it’s operations beyong the Western Region into the Central Region and is already gaining foothold in some communities withing the Central Region.
YAC aims to reduce and ultimately end teen pregnancy among young girls in Ghana. YAC also desires to creat a Ghanaian society i which children, especially young girls, have the chance to develop their skills and talents and are able reach their fullest potential. YAC also desirs to actively work towards improving life (quality/standard of living, health, employment, education and empowerment) in poor and deprived communities in Ghana.
